2016 School Consolidation Community Survey

The Condon School District 25J is working to begin a community-wide discussion about the challenges and decisions facing our school. Over the last 17 years, the District’s student body has decreased by 41% from 220 students in 1999 to 129 students today. Aging buildings and rising PERS costs coupled with declining enrollment and state support has created a perfect storm requiring the School Board and Administration to make some tough choices to preserve the high-quality educational opportunities our students deserve. 

To better utilize the District’s limited staff and building maintenance resources, the School Board is considering proposals to consolidate the Grade School and High School onto one campus. 

We don’t take this decision lightly. We know a potential consolidation affects everyone in the community, so we’re asking for your input. The Condon School Consolidation Survey is designed to gather your thoughts and ideas on the consolidation proposal, as well as ways we can keep you informed about this and other important decisions before the School Board.
